The Sacred Valley is the valley formed by the Urubamba (Vilcanota) River.
It was the nerve center of the Inca civilization and is currently one of the main destinations in South America.
It is home to many colonial villages where you can see the daily life of the people of the Andes, ancient Inca cities abandoned almost intact.
It is the “Spiritual Center in South America” and one of the best places to practice adventure sports in Peru.
But it is also an excellent place to buy traditional Andean textiles, handicrafts and other typical Andean objects, including gold and silver jewelry.
