It is near the Apurimac River at 4,300 meters above sea level. It was built by the Canchis and then conquered by the Incas.
The “Humantay Lagoon” is a natural attraction located in the town of Soraypampa, formerly only visited by those who ventured to make the trek to the snowy Salkantay, but now has become one of the most visited places by travelers.
